24th August 2015, Monday
Everything about school was last minute, registration, getting my time table, getting my student ID, no, I can't even get my ID till next semester and that's bad because they practically use it to access everything, the library, printing... I don't even know what I don't know.
IT all began when I was talking to yuan and she told me about how giah sing was going for orientation for the August intake in Sunway U, which is the only uni that provides BSc of Actuarial Science locally. Actually I thought of going to the Jan semester because I'm a lazy bum EHHEHEHHE, but my mum advised me to go on with the august intake so I went with it.
TOday was supposedly the first day of school BUT fortunately there was no class for my course so I got to use the morning to get my timetable and two booklets that students got during their orientation, which I missed.
AND THEN, mahomybejesus.... I THOUGHT the timetable is like AN ACTUAL TIMETABLE BUT NOOOO.....ahaha...NOOOOO. IN THE TINY LITTLE BOOK, there's a page where they show us the courses we're suppose to be taking for the first semester, AND BESIDE IT omg... SOME ALPHABeTS AND NUMBERS I WAS LIKE HOLY SHIT. like for calculus it's MAT1014, my eyes were blurred when I walked out of the admin office and saw like TWO BIG BOARDS with ALL THE PAPERS WHICH IS SUPPOSE TO BE OUR TIMETABLE....OUR... AS IN THE WHOLE SCHOOL mylord....
SO I had to find my courses slowly, along with many other students who seemed as lost as me. I didn't know what to do at first so I actually jotted down the wrong time table, THANK GOD THE lady came out and guided me... or else I would've went to the wrong class HAHAHHA.
For this semester, I have four subjects, Principles of accounting, Economics, ENglish for Business and Caculus. I'm actually looking forward to learning because I have no idea what economics is about and I think it's good to have some knowledge about business.
The booklet provided a lot of information about the degree, and that made me really really happy, they gave the answers to all the frequently asked questions which was a guidance for the three years. For actuarial science, we have to take an external exam other than exams within the university to be qualified as an actuary and they even listed the years and which papers we're suppose to take which is really good. I always thought that we would still have to take the exams after we graduate but they said that we can actually become a qualified actuary upon graduation if the student is dedicated and disciplined. I shall be dedicated and disciplined. ehehe.
Tomorrow's first class is economics, at 8 30... oh god. wish me luck. Time for bed now :)
